Do You Have Everything?

Hello fellow Travelers,

I have to say the hardest part about any trip is packing. Trying to plan out your outfits and being prepared for whatever comes your way. Here is a list of some things to always keep in mind when preparing for a trip.

  1. Always make a list

It may seem like a big waste of time but lists have helped me not forget the important things. Plan out your outfits and things you will need on a piece of paper. You can always double check the list before you leave to make sure you have everything you need.

2. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best

Always be prepared for any type of weather but never pack too much. Rewearing sweatshirts is okay to do. Look up the projected weather for your location a head of time so you know what to expect instead of over packing and regretting it later.

3. Toiletries

Ladies I know this is a big one for us. Especially with all our hair care products and essentials. Always pack the basics, sunscreen (if needed), shampoo, razor, some make up (you are on vacation after all), and some Advil (always good to have). Where ever you are going there is always some sort of gift shop or store near by to pick up anything you may need if forgotten.

4. Roll Your clothes

I can not stress enough how important packing your clothes is. By rolling your clothes to squeeze in those extra outfits it will benefit you later. Especially if you want to take more shoes (yes ladies I am talking to all of you).

5. Plastic Bag

Always bring at least one plastic bag, trust me. If you have any wet bathing suits from the pool or dirty hiking shoes full of mud this will come in handy. By putting your things in the plastic bag it will keep everything else in your bag clean and dry while you travel.

Money Doesn’t Grow on Trees

Hello fellow travelers,

Being a frequent traveler I always get this one question from my friends are. How do you have the money to travel? And my answers always is I know how to plan. Money doesn’t grow on trees and I know it takes a lot of hard work, come on I know I am a waitress after all. But a cheap vacation comes from knowing how to plan and always keeping your options open. Here are some tips on how to save for a trip…

  1. Start up a savings account

We all belong to some sort of bank, if not you are probably to young to book a vacation. If you already have accounts open up a new one! Its simple and easy to do and will definitely help you save. Use this as a goal setter. Every week take a couple dollars out of your paycheck and put it in this traveling account. This way you can see the growth of the account and set a goal for all your trips. Separating your money is key.

2. Always look for the best deals

Booking vacations can be long and annoying if you don’t know how to. But always keep your options open. You don’t need some five star extravagant vacation unless you want that of course. But booking a vacation is always about research. Look for your best deal that is affordable for you.

3. Airfare

Booking flights is tough. Especially if you are traveling with a lot of people. Everyone has different budgets. There are many applications and websites that compare hundreds of flights in your price range to make it easy and affordable. Also pack light! You don’t need some big huge suitcase with clothes you won’t even wear. Saving money on baggage will allow you to spend more money on the flight.

A Little Bit of Pixie Dust

Hello fellow travelers,

As I start off this blog and the adventure of a life time, I want to go back and reminisce on the past just a little bit. As of yesterday the Disney College Program application officially opened up for the Fall 2019 program. I myself did the program in Spring 2017, and cannot lie when I say it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. This travel blog is to guide those who are lost, and open the minds of future travelers to new and exciting places. Here are 8 tips on how to land the perfect internship…..

1. Everything is about motivation.

In order to land an internship, you must have the motivation to want to get one. Without any motivation it is hard to go after what you want in life. Getting out there and looking to see what the world has to offer, is the most important aspect.

2. Create a resume.

Resumes are a key element when applying to internships. They are first impressions of yourself before your interview. It is important to have a well organized and very detailed resume. Resumes are meant for you to brag about yourself. The more you put, the better off you will be.

3. Have some experience.

It is important not to just apply to an internship without any experience at all. Even if the job or other internship has nothing to do with the one you are applying too. Experience will show the internship that you are already ahead of the game. It shows responsibility and good work ethic in any field.

4. Search for the right applications and get them in on time.

It is important to apply to internships you are actually interested in. If you land an internship with a company you don’t actually like you won’t enjoy your experience at all. It is also important to get your applications in on time. Deadlines are key, so you don’t miss out on something you really want.

5. Prepare to be interviewed.

Interviews can be the hardest aspect to obtaining an internship. But there are many ways to prepare for an interview. Number one rule is that you should always be confident. Confidence is intriguing and something people often look for. Eye contact is also very important, it shows the interviewer you are paying attention and that you are good at focusing. Practice can only make perfect and help you when it comes time for the real one.

6. Be Persistent.

After the interviewing process is over, it is often times easy to think you got the hard part over with. But the truth is the hardest part is the waiting game. Being persistent is what any major company wants to see. Call the company, and find out what is going on with the process of their decision.

7. Know the company.

Knowing the company is a large component in landing an internship. It is important to research everything about the company, so you know what to expect. Some companies don’t allow any type of piercings, tattoos or any crazy hair colors.

8. Have fun.

Internships are meant to be fun, so have fun with it. Do something that will make you enjoy your job instead of something you dread going too. Having fun will make you want to work better and prove to the boss you deserved the internship.

Hope these tips will help! Until next time, don’t forget to dream…
